Sprinters close season at Havering AC Open

Sunday, September 20th, 2026

Three of BDAC’s sprinters closed their season at the Havering AC end of season open. I can report that it was a nice atmosphere and a friendly meeting with plenty of competitors across all age groups and a fairly full event programme. Heats were seeded pretty well and the standard of judges and officials were very high.

Xander Holmes (U18m) put in a solid 12.26sec for 2nd in his 100m heat.

Recent signing Lexi Knott (U14g) won her 100m heat in 14.46sec, and ran 30.77sec to finish 2nd in her 200m heat – a very respectable first performance over the distance.

Violet Smith-Little recorded a debut time over the 80mH of 16.56 sec (2nd in U16G), plus a 100m time of 15.60 sec and a 200m of 32.78 sec.

Everyone enjoyed a bright, sunny day at a track with decent stands, catering facilities and loads of on-site parking. We’re now looking forward to Havering AC’s early season open meeting next April – hoping athletes from other events will join us 🙂
